Whilst this is sold by the manufacturer to lock Vee belt pulleys, we have been using this tool for years to hold all sorts of rotors and pulleys, because it seems to grip many things that no other tool will and being rubber it doesn't cause damage.
At such a diminutive cost it is a very handy tool for a motorcycle workshop.

Used the harness tape for grouping wires together in head light and at end of pvc sleeving runs .

The tool works perfectly and is a good alternative to the original. It's a shame that the UK is no longer in the EU. Customs duties make it expensive, but I couldn't find anything cheaper on the European mainland.
Bought one of these when I started as an apprentice toolmaker in 1968, After several new heads both hyde and copper, I thought it was time to replace it.
