In recent years JIS screwdrivers have become better know in the motorcycle industry. JIS (Japanese Industry Standard) screwdriver have been about for years but few people in either the motorcycle nor automotive industry seem to have heard of them. As a result screws on Japanese vehicle were being routinely destroyed and the poor quality of the screws being blamed. JIS screws are better design than Phillips, not having the same tendency to cam out, providing the correct tool is used.
