Malleable Iron head fitted with one Rawhide and one Copper cylindrical face.
The malleable Iron head and the Copper/Rawhide faces combine to provide the weight for the blow and the faces prevent damage to most items
being struck.
Ideal where a heavy blow is required combined with a relatively small striking area.
Faces are designed to wear and can be replaced.
Used as a multi purpose soft faced hammer in engineering and automotive for assembly, repair and maintenance.
Thor hammers and Mallets are still made in Solihull in the West Midlands where they have been produced for a number of generations by the same family run business. Their quality is second to none - good old fashioned British engineering - long may they continue!

The tool works perfectly and is a good alternative to the original. It's a shame that the UK is no longer in the EU. Customs duties make it expensive, but I couldn't find anything cheaper on the European mainland.
Bought one of these when I started as an apprentice toolmaker in 1968, After several new heads both hyde and copper, I thought it was time to replace it.
