This little tool works far better than it looks as though it would. The diamond tip is powered by a couple of AAA batteries (included). It is very easy to use and will engrave most surfaces including metal, glass, ceramic plastics and many more. You just use it like a pen with very little pressure like a fountain pen.
We, obviously, use it on bikes and whilst we haven't had any desire to engrave glass or ceramics, we have used it on plenty of motorcycle parts. If you're stripping a multi cylinder engine you can use it to mark up the pistons. Priced at less than a modest round in a pub, it will pay for itself in short shift. We refused to give back our sample from Laser Tools as it was far too useful.

I hate changing tyres, but this stuff made the job much easier.
I broke the bead on the old tyre then applied the paste with a paint brush. Ten year old Bridgestone slid off easily and the new Heidenau, with very stiff sidewalls, was fitted much more easily than when I’d tried with washing-up liquid.
After having struggled trying to set the pilot air screws on my Suzuki’s carb’s - I saw this recommended in Classic Motorcycle Mechanics and it is an excellent piece of kit and well made too.
Excellent quality, first time I’ve used ‘ball-ended’ they were so much more adaptable when trying to access restricted spaces. Well worth it !
