This tool is used to hold the bucket down on classic Kawasaki Z1 based engines whilst the shims are changed. Using a spanner or socket on the end of the crankshaft, you turn the crank until the lobe of cam, for the valve you are working on, compresses the spring pushing the bucket down. You then insert the tool so that the little spiggott just holds the edge of the bucket, being secured by the supplied 6mm cap screw inserted in one of the threaded holes used to hold down the cam cover ordinarily. Once the tool is in place, the cam can be backed off by turning the crank the other way. Now the shim can easily be removed. The easiest method is the use a pair of forceps and a slim magnetic pick up tool. Whilst this tool does work the genuine Kawasaki tool is a better bet, but you do pay for the superior tool.

from 186 reviewsVery happy with the tape and big thanks to the lads at bikers toolbox.

I have bought stuff from Bikers Toolbox and as usual I am always happy with my purchase and delivery. 3 in 1 oil is a must in any garage or shed.

Incredible value pliers that have replaced a nasty pair made of cheese in my toolbox.
Not had to use them yet but must be an improvement 😊

Excellent multi tool and good quality for the money.

Excellent value and quality, speedily delivered too!

Lovely connectors - just what I was looking for - many thanks

Probably the best value tool I have ever bought. Great quality and an amazing price

Very good product, delivered quickly

Not my first purchase from Bikers Toolbox.
Great quality stuff.
Ralph always happy to give advice about any product.
Great company to deal with.

Works a treat, good tool, great price.
Thanks again

Very good connectors & delivered quickly

Great product and received earlier than expected

Bought for specific task which was gripping BSA A65 front wheel spindle while loosening nut with slogging spanner. Regular Mole wrench wouldn't grip but this worked perfectly - result! Now I have an excellent tool for future applications. Very pleased.
