When you work on more modern forks this simple tool is invaluable. In the photo, to the left, we show it being used to hold up the damper on a modern right way up fork, so that the fork top can be removed and replaced with the damper rod tool. Without it we used to find this job very tricky - dropping the damper rod inside is a major pest! It is also a must for rebuilding USD forks.
